THE CHALLENGE
The challenge for Andorra, primarily known for its ski resorts, is to stand out during the summer season by developing an ambitious cultural offering. Cirque du Soleil must conceive for Andorra Tourism an original show capable of establishing itself as a strong and distinctive cultural experience for Andorra as a summer destination, drawing on a bold and unexpected thematic universe to captivate all generations and renew the sense of wonder of an audience that returns year after year. For this edition, Cirque du Soleil chooses to mark ten years of collaboration by celebrating the vibrant culture and identity of Andorra.
THE SOLUTION
Since 2013, Cirque du Soleil has illuminated the city's summers with original shows presented in an ephemeral 3,500-seat venue in the heart of the urban centre, reinventing itself each year around an entirely new thematic universe, from haute couture to celebration and participatory music, to surprise and build loyalty among an audience that returns from one edition to the next with the certainty of discovering something new.
FESTA is an imaginary city, a place of passage, vacation and freedom, nestled in the heart of majestic mountains. In this dreamlike world, the General Manager of a hotel and his team secretly prepare a grand celebration for the venue's 10th anniversary, when the massive and unexpected arrival of vacationers turns everything upside down, triggering a cascade of comic, poetic and acrobatic situations that gradually unite the two groups in a shared outpouring of humanity.
In a musical, clownish and acrobatic universe, 23 artists bring to life 11 distinct tableaux that travel through the many spaces of the Festa (pool, boutique, games room, lounge ) each driven by its own acts: Wheel of Death, duo trapeze, aerial juggling, chair balancing and trampo-wall. All supported by original Cirque du Soleil costumes and music, for a 65-minute show brimming with energy and humanity.
