CIRQUE DU SOLEIL SPECIAL EVENTS DIVISION EXPANDS TO BECOME 45 DEGREES
Montreal, April 7, 2015 – After creating and presenting spectacular events and special projects worldwide for the past 10 years, the Events division of the Cirque du Soleil, which has seen impressive growth, becomes 45 DEGREES. This represents a natural extension for the global entertainment company, which will continue to produce Cirque du Soleil special events, as well as expand its activities to offer new forms of experiential creative content.
45 DEGREES, headed by Yasmine Khalil, will continue to rely on the creative and production expertise acquired through more than a thousand successful events worldwide, while joining forces with new talent from across the globe.
“Our team collaborates with each client to develop world-class creative content customized to their specific objectives,” explains Yasmine Khalil, President of 45 DEGREES. “We have access to extraordinary live performance talent from around the world – from acrobatics to new forms of artistry and technology – which allow us to create and deliver truly unique entertainment experiences.”
Since 2004 the Cirque du Soleil Special Events team has worked successfully in both the public and private sectors worldwide. Its portfolio stretches from corporate events for Fortune 500 companies to world-renowned cultural events to outdoor festivals commissioned by heads of state. Noteworthy accomplishments include launches for Microsoft Kinect, Fiat Bravo and McLaren F1, as well as two Academy Awards performances, two Super Bowl appearances, the World Expo Shanghai Pavilion, Expo Zaragoza and several outdoor festivals in Canada, Italy, Andorra and Russia.
While currently working on the production of a dozen corporate and private events, the 45 DEGREES team has already been entrusted with the production of major contracts worldwide. Some of these great projects include Cirque du Soleil’s first permanent cabaret dinner show, Joyà, in Mexico as well as the upcoming 2015 Pan Am Games Opening Ceremony in Toronto and the 2015 Expo Milan outdoor show. This latest production, ALLAVITA, has just been announced at the official Expo Milan press conference held in Italy on March 25.
